What’s Hot for Weddings? 2016-2017 Wedding Trends

Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers invites couples who are planning for a 2016-2017 wedding to consider some of the latest wedding trends below!

The Wedding Cake
One of the most recent – and cool - trends for the wedding cake are animated cakes.  Animation sequences are projected directly on an all-white wedding cake to make it come alive!  Some other wedding couples are dropping the wedding cake completely.  Instead of the “traditional cake,” they’re creatively displaying other types of delectable desserts - from cupcakes to chocolate covered strawberries to tarts and macaroons!

The Wedding Flowers
One of the latest wedding florals trends is to use no flowers at all.  Instead, couples are using simple arrangements of green leaves, palms, and/or branches.  Greens have the ability to create an elegance atmosphere and they’re a great way to make your wedding feel natural and simple.

The Wedding Dress
While a white wedding gown still creates a timeless look, pale pink or blush pink wedding gowns are still on trend for a bride seeking a more modern look.  Dresses with texture also appear to be popular for 2017.

The Wedding Party
Having your bridesmaid – and groomsmen – wear attire in a variety of shades of your chosen wedding colors is a growing trend and is opposed to the conventional idea that everyone needs to wear the exact same dress or suit.

The Rings!
Can’t decide on a stone, metal, setting, or style for your wedding rings? Stacked rings are the perfect solution for you!  The stacked rings look allows you to show off a little of everything that you like. They also allow you to be creative and change them up depending on the day, season, or your outfit.  Explore our line of engagement rings and weddings rings on our Schwanke-Kasten website for some ideas on how you can stack rings.  Cobalt wedding bands are the popular choice for men.  They’re durable, they resist scratches, they’re elegant, they’re easy to clean, and they’re the perfect choice for men who don’t typically wear rings.  Explore our Schwanke-Kasten colbat wedding bands.
